Chronicles our 300-mile journeys (Raleigh to Washington D.C. in 2008, Eastern North Carolina in 2009) to remember murder victims, those executed or on death row, their families, and to abolish the death penalty.
As a rule we aim to begin walking at 8:30 AM and end at 6:30 PM but these times change due event scheduling and other factors.
10:00 AM House Judiciary I Committee will hear the NC Racial Justice Act in Room 1228 of the Legislative Building, 16 West Jones Street.
11:30 PM SOfAR Pilgrims arrive in Raleigh: Press Conference in front of Legislative Building, 16 W. Jones Street, Raleigh, NC.
12:30 PM Greet and eat with Pilgrims at First Presbyterian Church, 111 W. Morgan St., Raleigh in Memorial Fellowship Hall. Bring your own lunch.
1:00 PM Brief orientation: “How to talk to legislators” and update on the Racial Justice Act.
1:30-3:00 PM Visit Legislators and talk with them about RJA and other concerns.

Scott, Roberta and Grant: I was happy today to receive your newsletter and immediately logged onto your blog. What a trip! I so admire your determination and focus. I am happy Will is returning to Raleigh; it will be good to see you all again. He will be there by mid-August and seems happy to be planning a second JVC year; this one will be very different from Harlem!
Hope to see you while Will is back south. Will be interested to learn more about your work.
Leah
